Meet our last muse for our SOS sundown series, Blanda Jana. Come along with us as Blanda invites us into her house, a hidden oasis in the hills of Los Angeles, to talk about her thoughts on the end of the Summer Season.
What do you want to do before summer ends?
I would love to go on a road trip with my husband Simon for a change of scenery and to find new inspiration. Santa Fe is a possible destination as we have both never been. Or Nashville to visit some friends.
What’s a chapter of your life that closed this season to make way for a new one?
This past year has been very centered around awareness for me. I have spent a lot of time working through personal issues and towards a greater sense of contentment and self-acceptance. It’s a tricky can of worms and sometimes shaking things up to let new energy come through feels very chaotic and scary. But the process is also a very rewarding one and has helped me in letting go of unconscious patterns that no longer serve me.
What’s something you look forward to in the next season of your life?
Showing some of my new work and diving into some new creative projects. There is a fresh spark that I haven’t felt in a while and I’m sure it will ignite lots of exciting ideas and draw in many new opportunities.
What’s a summer memory that’s special to you?
Late afternoon lunches in the garden with my husband and laying on the hot stone floor after a swim. Sitting on a pile of pillows, making drawings for hours. We have spent a lot of time at home this summer and somehow found ways to still make it feel like a summer vacation.
