Travel Diary: What I Did and Wore In Australia

Australia has been my dream travel destination for a while now but the timing never worked out for me. So I was really excited when Revolve invited me on a trip to Whitsundays and Sydney. There’s something about Australia, the people were so nice, the fruit were so fresh and the weather felt amazing. Needless to say, I had a blast and I want to document what I did and what I wore in Australia.

Our first destination was Hamilton Island in Whitsundays. The beautiful tree house that I stayed in had the perfect view. My mornings here was spent in between my sheets as I soaked up the beautiful scenery.

Despite the gloomy weather, I headed out to explore Hamilton Island. I wore this Lovers + Friends Midi dress that immediately brightened up my day. I styled it with my a gold chain belt and my favorite gold necklaces. A good wrap dress is a must for me while I’m on vacation because it’s comfortable but still look put together.

On our second day, we explored beyond Hamilton Island and sailed on a yacht. We cruised around the clear waters of the Whitsunday Islands (there are 74 islands!). I heard most of the islands here were still uninhabited, meaning untouched and preserved rainforests and marine life. The coast was calm and beautiful, I was in paradise.

For our day in the yacht, I wore this House of Harlow 1960 One Piece and styled it with linen pants. I brought my straw hat with me for the extra sun protection.

After sailing around the islands, we spent our afternoon along the shores of Hamilton Island. I changed into this House of Harlow 1960 swim set (top here). I like the V wire on this bikini top and the high waisted bottoms gave me room for another acai bowl haha.

On our third day, right before we visited a Koala Sanctuary (see what happened on my Instagram!), I had breakfast at our hotel. Of course, I ate another acai bowl – it’s either that or an avocado toast. I wore the House of Harlow 1960 midi skirt and paired it with a puffy shoulder piece. The leopard print detail and the fringe on my skirt made it a really fun piece for the sanctuary.

Right before we flew to Sydney, I took another dip in this pool and enjoyed the amazing view in my Tularosa bikini set (top here).

After a refreshing stay in Hamilton Island, we traveled to Sydney. I was thrilled to finally see the famous Icebergs pool by Bondi Beach. It was a breathtaking view of the ocean waves crashing onto the pool. You might have seen this pool all over Instagram but I’d have to say that the photos don’t do justice. It’s surreal in real life.

From Whitsundays to Sydney, I wore a Majorelle Waldorf Top with a pair of relaxed jeans. The top was light and comfortable enough to travel in during the summer.

The next day, brunch was served at The Grounds of Alexandria. This place was a cafe, a market, and a farm in one. The atmosphere was great and trust me, the food was as pleasing as their aesthetics.

What’s a trip to Bondi beach without some surfing? I had the best day in Sydney because some local surfers willingly spent their afternoon surfing with me! I love the weather and the people here, they made my Bondi experience fun and memorable.

I wore this Majorelle Francesca Midi dress to dinner that night and it matched with the emerald green waters of Bondi Beach. I was totally blending in with my monochromatic look.

For my last day in Sydney, we explored the city and visited the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. I wore a House of Harlow 1960 Nellie Dress that was comfortable enough as I try to do as many activities as I can before I head back to LA. The trip went by so fast.. You had me at Bondi, Australia!
