Back in L.A. Outfits via Instagram
October 20, 2014 - 111 CommentsI can’t believe it’s late October already. This year so far has been crazy busy for me with all of my travels and the different projects that I’m working on, both fashion and with my interior design job. I feel like this week has been the longest period I’ve been in back home in Los Angeles in years. I’ve been home for 2 weekends now and although that seems like a long period of time, it feels like I just got back to L.A. a couple of days ago because I’ve been so busy! Anyways, my days back in L.A. require a no fuss outfit that’s still appropriate for my day job and the weather since it still feels like summer.I’ve been living in these AG jeans lately which are basically a slightly slouchy version of skinny jeans.
You can never go wrong with a great white shirt, jeans, and these Zimmerman loafers.
I always find myself collecting white, blue or striped button down shirts. They’re so easy to wear – with skirts, jeans, and even leather pants. I wore mine with a black Tibi skirt, Chloe Drew bag, and Schutz lace up pumps.
Last weekend, I spent some quality time with my best friend Cuit. Cuit motivated me to do the AIDS walk with him where people walk and try to raise money to benefit the AIDS Project Los Angeles. Not only was it a great workout (we walked almost 6 miles!) but I was so impressed by how many young people (college students and even high school students) showed up and walked. It was so inspiring to walk with so many young individuals who are trying to raise awareness of AIDS. I wore a Zoe Karssen sweatshirt and Nike Roshe Runs.
I also attended the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic and this is my attempt on Divot stomping during half-time aka my Pretty Woman moment! This was my second time attending and I’ll be honest, I was so busy eating and people watching that I didn’t really watch the polo match much! My outfit is from Keepsake (similar here) and heels are from Tibi.
Another favorite of mine that I keep collecting are great tees. I really like this oversized deep v-neck t-shirt from Anine Bing. I wore it with the t-shirt with an Anine Bing lace bodysuit and a Jennifer Zeuner necklace.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, here I’m wearing pink. My best friend’s mom passed away from breast cancer last year and one of my friends Taji is currently battling breast cancer, so this cause is very dear to me. I’m going to be donating all of the proceeds from an upcoming eBay auction to a breast cancer foundation. Will keep you posted on when the auction goes live!
Wearing a matching checked top and checked shorts (dress version here) from Mango. Boots are from Michael Kors via Macy’s.
Fall in L.A. isn’t really like fall in other places. I brought out my sleeveless camel coat (similar here and here) and wore it with an Everlane top, Cameo skirt, Tibi Amber heels, and my favorite work bag, the Michael Kors Miranda tote (also here.) I also love this crossbody version.
It did get chilly enough for a turtleneck on Friday, so I wore my Self-portrait baby blue turtleneck sweater (similar here) and boyfriend jeans with my trusty Givenchy Antigona bag and Givenchy heels.
Sunday was spent with my sister Dani! My sister and I finally did some shopping at The Grove, visited our favorite antique store which is full of quirky pieces, and ate some good Mexican food. I literally rolled out of bed with no makeup on besides filling in my brows and quickly got dressed. Unwashed hair, striped button down shirt, J Brand denim shorts, and dirty ol’ chuck taylors. I looked a little messy so I had to throw on my Helmut Lang Tux blazer to make this outfit look pull together. I’m telling you, button down shirts are the best when it comes to fast dressing!
