Whenever I’m shopping for skincare products, often times I’ll see the term ‘prevents dark spots’ or ‘dark spot corrector’ on certain items. I’ve overlooked those types of products in the past because I thought it didn’t apply to me so I’d go on shopping for other concerns like hydrating or anti-wrinkle.
Well, little did I know, there’s a difference between freckles and dark spots.
After my once a year (trying to make it more often) visit to a dermatologist, I expressed my concerns about my eczema and the little freckles on my face from years in the Californian sun. The dermatologist explained they’re called sun spots and dark spots which are different from freckles. Apparently women get more of them than men (not fair!) but thankfully there are several ways to fix and prevent them. There are medical treatments such as lasering them off or you can simply apply Vitamin E and take tons of Vitamin C (although that may take some time) as well as using skincare products that focus on removing and correcting dark spots. While there are tons of skincare products out there, I was happy to try the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum because the key ingredient is their patented Viniferine which is 62 times more effective than Vitamin C.
After using toner and an essence, I apply this serum on my face right before my moisturizer. I start from my forehead to the cheeks, to chin then continue onto my neck and shoulders.
The Vinoperfect Radiance Serum has a lightweight, kind of milky texture, and it layers really nicely under SPF. So next, I apply a sunscreen. It’s supposed to counter sunspots, acne marks, scars, and damage, for a brighter, more beautiful complexion. I had a mini eczema flare on my face and the serum was still gentle enough that it didn’t disturb my eczema.I’ve only been using it for about a week so it’s a little too soon to say that all of my dark spots have been removed but I do see a brighter complexion in my skin so I’m going to continue using this product in my daily routine. Since the product can be used under your sunscreen for a flawless tan, you know I used it religiously on my trips to Cannes and Capri.Caudalie actually makes a few of my other favorite products as well! I am definitely a mist addict–I always carry it with me and I constantly spray my boyfriend and assistants with it (they’ll thank me one day). Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir is the perfect one and keeps my skin refreshed throughout the day. I really don’t travel without it because if there’s ever a time my skin needs to be refreshed, it’s right off an airplane. I also love the tinted moisturizer because it has SPF in it, and the make-up removing cleansing water and oil.
Thank you to Caudalie for sponsoring this post
